Fernie Chan

Though born with the love to draw since young, it remained hidden quietly in her until she re-discovered the joy of painting in 2015, since then Fernie has been continually pursuing her passion in painting.

Her preferred mediums are oil, acrylic and watercolor. Her inspiration comes from anything that capture her heart which born out of the beauty of God’s creations such as nature, people, animals and colors etc. She likes to play with brushstrokes, colors and texture to express her emotions and thoughts in her works.

She hopes that her paintings will elicit an emotional response from her viewer; connecting them to take on a journey into the message of love, hope and joy.

Fernie is no newcomer when it comes to participating in art shows that invite artists to express their faith through paint.

Q: What are you looking forward to this exhibition as a artist?

I am excited about the gathering of like-minded Christian artists coming together to share our faith through our art. At the same time, I am also looking forward to meeting new friends.

Q: How has the theme for this exhibition influence your subject matter?

For me, I hope people can see the message of 'newness’ and learn to expect and embrace this 'newness' in their spiritual journey.

Q: Is there a particular colour palette that you use in your work?

Come to think of it, I realised blue is always one of my favourite colours and this time around, you can expect to see touches of gold in some of my work.
