I started this painting in 2020 at the start of circuit breaker with a desire to paint that stare that shook me to my core.
I was watching the movie “Passion of Christ” many years ago and in one of the scenes, “Yeshua” turn around and he stared straight into my eyes. I shook and drop my popcorn. That stared never leave me since then. Every times, when I felt that I could not move another step, I remember that stare.
For it seems to whisper:
I Love you and I had paid the price. Come to me.
And is this desire to get the “stared” right that seem to stop this painting forever to be finish. Because I just could not bring out that message in his eyes. So, is the painting finish? I do not know. Maybe it could only be finish in Nov 22 when I had to display to the world. A world that right now that desperately need the message of His Love.

This painting was conceived in 2019 when I got a permission from a visiting New Zealand speaker to use his photography of him surfing with an angel (The wave he surfs on form a shape of an angel hovering over him) for reference. After destroying a few canvases and years later, Heaven Rider was born in 2022 with nothing like the original photography and yet is the photograph.
The concept of riding involves travelling and leaving one original space. In these verses, Moses gives us a picture of God riding through the heaven to answer our calls of help. That means He left a place where we yet able to know or conceive to where we are to allows us to have a visual of HIM.
Then where is that original place? Or maybe I should refer to the place as a level where He is as Moses clearly refer to HIM as a dwelling space. A level where a total divorced from all space and space. And yet He step down from that level to where I am whenever I seek Him or call for help.
However even he steps down to where I am, He is yet at where He is. The boundaries of space and Time had no power over Him. Or maybe I should say, to Him, they are non-exist. Now this I yet able to grasp fully as I yet have a consciousness that pertains to neither to perception or to nonperception.
As He step down to where I am, it only right I made an effort to be where He is. A place where even space and time is none exist. Where nothing exists except HIM. If following that thought, to reach that place, I need to become nothing. As only Him is allow to be to there. A complete I in Him, Him in me. And I was told, “To those who surf with angels in this finite world, will ride the heaven to where He is.”
And this is how the Heaven Rider is finally born. A desire to go to where He is. A place at arm length and yet beyond time and space. The distance is where my consciousness is at.
